The Food Technology Industry is becoming increasingly popular and offers a lot of career opportunities. The job prospects after doing B.Tech in Food Technology, are plenty. The work of food technologists is mainly in hotels, food industries, quality control, hospitals, packaging, industries, distilleries, soft drink factories and rice mills etc. Students completing a course in Food Technology get employed in a variety of roles within the food industry, like, determining market needs, developing new products to meet these needs, establishing quality control systems to maintain food safety and consistent quality.

In India, there is a lot of scope in this sector as there is a huge market for various products like pickles, papads, dairy products, bakery items, wines and beverages, frozen foods and other processed foods.
